I’d rather go than wonder.
I think that’s probably the easiest way to describe me.
I’ve always had this thing where seeing something cool on the internet isn’t quite enough. A place, a road, an experience — at some point, I start thinking: why am I watching someone else do it when I could just go?

02 / Leaving the map
Wrong bus.
Costa Rica.
No internet. Heavy rain. We started taking buses more or less at random, hoping they were going in the right direction.
They were not.
And sometimes it means deciding that walking across a frozen lake sounds like a good idea. My leg went straight through the ice, my trousers were soaked, and it was around −6°C.
A frozen lake.

One wet pair of trousers.
We ended up making a fire in the snow while I stood there without my trousers, waiting for them to dry.
So yeah. Results may vary.
03 / Other worlds
Sometimes I just want
to live inside a film.
That’s probably why I can disappear into video games for hours.
Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Skyrim, The Witcher 3… I love worlds that make me forget I’m sitting in front of a screen. Give me somewhere I can get lost, wander around without doing what I’m supposed to be doing, and feel like I’m living someone else’s life for a while.
It’s the same reason I love cinema. Christopher Nolan is probably the obvious one for me. Big worlds, big ideas, and music that makes everything feel ten times more important than it actually is.

04 / Sound
Loud.
Quiet.
Whatever.
My music taste makes absolutely no sense. Jazz, techno, rap, rock, metal, classical music — I’m genuinely happy jumping between all of them.
I played guitar and drums too, so I’ve always liked music as something you can get lost in rather than just something playing in the background.
Jazz.
Techno.
Rap.
Rock.
Metal.
Classical.
Some days that means something orchestral.
Some days it’s hard techno.
Apparently both can coexist.
05 / Night drive
First car.
First song:
Nightcall.
Then I went driving alone at night.
I’m a huge geek for Drive, and I’ve always loved driving at night. There’s something about an empty road, the lights passing by and having nowhere particularly important to be.
So when I got my first car, I already knew what the first song had to be.
Nightcall. I put it on and went driving alone at night. No destination. No particular reason. I’d probably seen Drive one too many times.
Still worth it.

Yes, I was
that kid.
I’ve been a massive geek for as long as I can remember.
Back in middle school, I was already messing around with computers and making little .bat files just to annoy my friends on the school PCs.
I don’t remember exactly what they did anymore. I mostly remember finding it hilarious.
That part never really went away. I still love figuring things out, tinkering with stuff and going much further down a rabbit hole than any reasonable person probably would.
Give me something new to understand and there’s a decent chance I’ll lose a few hours to it.
